A live sales leaderboard reps play for.

A sales leaderboard ranks your reps by the numbers that matter, like revenue, deals or calls, so everyone sees who is leading and how the team is tracking to its goal. GoalHorn keeps yours live: it reads your CRM through a Google Sheet, re-ranks the board as deals land, and puts every win on the office TV with the rep's name, the amount and the gong.

Ranked live, celebrated out loud, readable from across the room.

Free for up to 5 reps. No account, nothing to install.

What makes a sales leaderboard work.

A leaderboard is only as good as the behavior it drives. Six rules from floors where it works.

  • Rank by the number that pays

One primary number everyone agrees on: revenue sold, deals closed, loans funded. A second number underneath gives context without splitting attention.

  • Reset on a rhythm

A weekly or monthly board gives everyone a fresh shot. Last period's results move to a recap board instead of burying a slow starter for a whole quarter.

25 sales contest ideas to run on it

  • Show the team goal and the pace

The team ring keeps the middle and the bottom of the board playing: every deal moves the goal, and the pace marker says whether the month is on track.

  • Celebrate every win, not just first place

A new hire's first close deserves the same moment as the top rep's tenth. Recognition for every deal is what keeps everyone watching.

  • Put it where people are

A TV on the sales floor, and the same board on reps' phones for the ones in the field.

  • Use numbers nobody argues about

Feed the board from the CRM, not from memory. When a deal is marked won, the row lands on its own.

Sales leaderboard examples.

Six ways to show the standings, all from the same rows of wins. GoalHorn rotates through them on its own, about 15 seconds each, or holds the one you pick.

  1. A sales leaderboard race: each rep's bar with revenue and deals, the leader at the top
    Closers

    The revenue race

Every rep is a bar racing toward the lead, ranked by revenue sold, with deals under each name when seven or fewer share the screen. When someone passes a teammate, the two trade places on air.

  2. The top three reps on a lit podium with their initials and sales totals
    Top three

    The podium

The week's or month's top three on a lit podium with their photos or initials and totals. Readable from anywhere in the room.

  3. A team sales goal ring with the amount left to close, days left and the pace marker
    Everyone

    The team goal

One ring filling toward the team's target, with what is left, the days left and a pace marker. The board for teams that win or lose together.

  4. Recent sales as cards with the rep, the amount and how long ago each closed
    The feed

    Latest wins

The newest deals fly in as cards: who, how much and how long ago. Good for a second screen by the door.

  5. A sales scoreboard with today, this week and this month totals and the top rep in each
    At a glance

    The scoreboard

Today, this week and this month side by side, with the top rep in each. The board for the morning meeting.

  6. The final frame of a month replay: every rep's running total as a line, with the strongest finish called out
    Monday

    The Replay

Last week or last month raced back day by day in about 20 seconds, then the strongest finish and the hot start called out.

What to rank by, team by team.

The number that pays goes first, the activity or volume behind it second, and the reset matches how fast the team sells.

Sales leaderboard metrics by team: what to rank by, the second number and how often to reset

Ranking SDRs by meetings held rather than booked keeps the board honest: a meeting that never happens does not count (more on the SDR leaderboard). Mortgage teams should base any prize on volume or units, never on loan terms. Dealers: see the car sales board.

How to create a sales leaderboard.

Five steps, about five minutes if you already keep a sheet of wins.

Putting it on a TV? See how to set up a live sales TV dashboard and which hardware works.

  1. Choose the number

One number to rank by and one to show underneath: revenue and deals for closers, meetings and calls for SDRs, units and volume for loan officers.

  2. Start a sheet

One row per win with the date, the rep and the amount. Three columns are enough. Or start from the free sales leaderboard template for Google Sheets and Excel.

  3. Fill it from the CRM

A Zapier or Make step, or a GoHighLevel workflow, adds the row when a deal is won. Teams without a CRM log wins with a two-question Google Form.

  4. Add the team

Names, photos if you have them, each rep's goal and the team's goal for the week or month.

  5. Put it up

Open the board's TV link on the office screen and press Start. Send the same link to reps' phones.

Choosing sales leaderboard software.

Six things decide whether a leaderboard is still on the wall in three months.

Introduce it without denting morale.

A leaderboard that lands as surveillance gets ignored or resented. Five steps that make it land as recognition.

  1. Say why before it goes up

It is there to recognize wins and track the team goal, not to single anyone out. Say it in the meeting, not in an email.

  2. Lead with the wins and the goal

For the first week, turn on only the team goal scene and let the celebrations do the talking (they still say where the rep ranks). The full ranking means more once people have seen their own name come up.

  3. Reset weekly at first

Short periods give everyone an early fresh start. Move to monthly once the board is part of the routine.

  4. Count what reps control

Use the number from the CRM, the same rule for everyone, and fix a disputed row the same day.

  5. Ask after two weeks

What would make the board more useful? Reps usually ask for one more number or a different reset, and they are usually right.

Already keep a leaderboard in Google Sheets?

Plenty of teams start with a ranked sheet and a colored bar. GoalHorn reads that same sheet and turns it into a live board, with nothing to rebuild.

  • A log of wins

One row per win (date, rep, amount, and a note if you like). Each new row is a celebration, and GoalHorn ranks the reps itself.

  • Or a row per rep

A running total for each rep, with a goal and a photo link if you have them. GoalHorn celebrates whenever a rep's total goes up.

  • Headers it already knows

Rep, Salesperson, Agent or Loan Officer; Amount, Revenue, Premium or Units; Closed Date or Timestamp. Most CRM exports and reports work as they are.

  • Shared by link

Set the sheet to anyone with the link can view and paste the link into GoalHorn. It checks for new rows every 30 seconds, and your formulas stay where they are.

One flat price for the whole team.

Not per rep and not per screen. Monthly, cancel any time.

Sales leaderboard questions.

What is a sales leaderboard?

A ranked list of your reps by a sales number such as revenue, deals or calls, shared where the whole team can see it. A live sales leaderboard updates on its own as deals close, usually on an office TV and on reps' phones.

Is a sales board the same as a sales leaderboard?

Mostly, yes. A sales board is the older name, from the whiteboard by the sales desk where managers wrote each rep's numbers. A sales leaderboard ranks the same reps, and a live one on a TV updates itself and celebrates each win. For layouts, see 15 sales board ideas.

What should a sales leaderboard track?

One primary number that pays, usually revenue, deals or units, and one supporting number such as deals, calls or meetings booked. Add a team goal so everyone shares a target, not just the top rep.

How often should a sales leaderboard reset?

Weekly for short sales cycles and high-activity teams, monthly for longer cycles. Keep the last period on a recap board, so a great week is still remembered after the reset.

Do leaderboards demotivate low performers?

They can when only first place gets attention. Celebrate every win, show the team goal, and reset often, so a rep who starts slow can still win the week.

What is the best sales leaderboard app?

The one your reps actually look at. For a sales floor, look for live data from your CRM, a TV mode, a celebration for every win and a price that does not grow with every hire. GoalHorn is built for that. Full gamification suites add coaching, commissions and chat bots at a per-user price.

Can I make a sales leaderboard in Google Sheets?

Yes. Log one row per win (date, rep, amount) and rank the reps with a pivot table or SUMIF, or keep one row per rep with a running total. To put it on a TV with live ranking and celebrations, point GoalHorn at the same sheet.

Is there a free sales leaderboard?

GoalHorn is free for one board with up to 5 reps, celebrations included, with no account and no card.

Can reps see the leaderboard on their phones?

Yes. The board's TV link opens on phones too, so reps in the field see the standings and every win as it happens.

Put the standings where everyone can see them.

Free for up to five reps. $49 a month flat when the whole team is on it.
