A car sales board that cheers every delivery.

A car sales board tracks units by salesperson, new and used, against the month's goal. Most stores keep it on a whiteboard by the desk. GoalHorn puts it on the showroom or sales office TV, live from a Google Sheet, and turns every delivery into a moment the whole floor sees.

Free for up to 5 salespeople. No account, nothing to install.

What goes on a car sales board.

The same things as the whiteboard, except the board keeps itself up to date and the whole floor hears about every delivery.

  • Units by salesperson

Everyone ranked by units delivered this month, with the leader on top and the race for second right behind.

  • New and used

New or Used rides along with every celebration. Want separate standings? Give each its own board on the Floor plan, each reading its own tab of the log (a FILTER formula can build a used-units tab).

  • Gross, on the right screen

Gross as the second number belongs on the sales office TV. On a screen customers can see from the showroom, show units only.

  • The month's goal, with pace

One ring for the store's unit goal, with units to go, days left and whether the store is ahead of pace.

  • Today's deliveries

The latest units with the salesperson and the vehicle, so someone back from a test drive sees what happened.

From the whiteboard to the TV in four steps.

About ten minutes, most of it typing in your salespeople.

  1. Start the deal log

One row per delivered unit in a Google Sheet. Start from the car sales board template (CSV), or point GoalHorn at the log your desk already keeps, minus any sale price or amount column: GoalHorn would add those up instead of counting units.

  2. Keep it filled

The desk adds a row at delivery, salespeople use a two-question Google Form on their phones, or Zapier or Make copies deals from your CRM.

  3. Set up the board

Units as the main number (every row counts as one), Gross as the second number (Typed per win) if this screen is for staff, the month's unit goal, and photos if you have them.

  4. Open it on the TV

Paste the board's TV link into the screen's browser and press Start once. It goes full screen, plays a sound for every delivery and keeps the screen awake.

Car sales contest ideas for the board.

Short, simple and visible from the desk. More in 25 sales contest ideas.

  • First to five

The first salesperson to deliver five units this month wins. The race shows who is closest every morning.

  • Weekend sprint

Saturday and Sunday on a This week board with the week starting Saturday, and a prize for the top two.

  • Month-end close

The last seven days against the store's goal. The ring shows how many units are left, and the pace marker where the store should be by now.

  • Used car push

A second board for used units with its own goal, on the Floor plan, reading a used-units tab, when the lot needs turning.

  • Ring it out

A bell or gong for every delivery. The sales office hears every sale without anyone walking to the desk.

  • Personal best

Set each salesperson's goal to their best month ever. Everyone who beats it wins.

One flat price for the whole store.

Car sales board questions.

What is a car sales board?

The board in a dealership that tracks units sold by each salesperson for the month, usually split into new and used, against the store's goal. Many stores still use a whiteboard by the desk; a TV board updates itself and celebrates each delivery.

Should gross be on the sales board?

On a screen only staff can see, it can motivate. Keep it off any screen customers can see from the showroom. On GoalHorn, gross is an optional second number, and units can be the only number on the board.

Can it track new and used separately?

Every delivery shows New or Used with its celebration. For separate standings and goals, run a board for each on the Floor plan (up to three boards), each reading its own tab, such as a used-units tab built with FILTER.

Does it work with our DMS or CRM?

Through a Google Sheet. If your CRM can add a row to a sheet through Zapier or Make, the board updates on its own. If not, the desk adds a row at delivery, or salespeople log deals from their phones with a two-question Google Form.

What do we need on the TV?

Any TV with a current browser, a streaming stick or a mini PC on HDMI. Open the live demo on the screen first; if motion stutters on a cheap stick, switch on TV stick mode.

Is it free?

Free for one board with up to 5 salespeople. A whole sales team is $49 a month flat, and $149 a month covers up to three boards, such as new, used and the sales office.
